Cultural Sociology is the first journal explicitly to be dedicated to the sociological comprehension of cultural matters. It will act as a key meeting point for sociological analysts of culture For cultural sociology, especially helpful are (1) his theory of social stratification and the importance of cultural capital for the attainment and reproduction of social status, (2) his concept of habitus, particularly for ethnography that seeks to make arguments beyond the micro-social and relate structure and agency, and (3) his notion of field as a way to examine the logic of cultural institutions.
